The accompanying Season 9 update will be released simultaneously on all platforms and, according to Psyonix's latest blog post, introduces a number of new features. Most notably, Rocket League's ninth season marks the arrival of Extra Modes, formerly known as Ranked Sports. This sees Dropshot, Hoops, Rumble, and Snow Day modes lose their Casual status, and join the game's Rank-based Competitive Playlists.
Additionally, Season 9 adds a new in-game soundtrack - Rocket League x Monstercat Vol. 4 - plus Season 8 Rewards, and various quality of life improvements and bug fixes. The recently introduced Rocket Pass 1 continues into www.lolga.com the new season, concluding on November 26th.
Psyonix's Season 9 update also brings the new Hot Wheels Triple Threat DLC pack, described as "one of our biggest Premium DLC packs ever". Coinciding with Hot Wheels' 50th anniversary celebrations, the new pack transforms three classic Hot Wheels vehicles into Battle-Cars (the Gazella GT, MR11, and Fast 4WD), each with four unique decals. There're also new Gorilla, Snake, and Spider Toppers, and the whole package costs $5.99 USD (around ?.50).
Rocket League's Premium DLC will be accompanied by a selection of free Hot Wheels-themed goodies for all players. Everyone will, for instance, Rocket League Trading have access to the new Hot Wheels Rivals arena, plus a range of currently unannounced free customisation options.All this will be available as part of Rocket League's Season 9 update, which launches on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC next week, on September 24th.
